This policy explains, in plain language, what ClipCost (clipcosts.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. ClipCost is a US-based information site. We collect as little as we can.
If you join our price-drop newsletter, we collect your email address and the date you signed up. We use it only to send ClipCost emails about AI video pricing. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Our newsletter is run by Buttondown, which stores subscriber addresses and sends our emails on our behalf. When you sign up, your email address (and any price-drop alert topics you tick, saved as tags) goes directly to Buttondown and is handled under Buttondown's privacy policy. Buttondown may record basic delivery data such as opens and clicks. We use it only to run the newsletter.
We may use basic analytics to understand how the site is used, such as pages viewed, approximate country, browser and device type, and the site that referred you. We use this only to improve ClipCost, not to identify you. Analytics tools may set cookies or similar technologies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
Some links to AI video tools may be affiliate links. When you click one, the vendor or its affiliate network may set a cookie on your device so it can credit ClipCost if you sign up or buy. Those cookies are controlled by the vendor or network under their own privacy policies, not ours. We do not receive your payment details or account information from them; at most we see aggregated reports of clicks and sales. See our affiliate disclosure.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We only share data with service providers that help us run the site (for example hosting, analytics, or email delivery through Buttondown), or when the law requires it.
You can unsubscribe from emails at any time. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, email info@clipcosts.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and within the time any applicable US state privacy law requires. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
ClipCost is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use reasonable measures to protect the little data we hold, but no website or service is perfectly secure.
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will also be noted on the site.
